All WordPress sites use a theme. If we built your site it will normally be the Beaver Builder theme or Astra. Themes are regularly updated to work with new versions of WordPress or to add improvements or security fixes.

If 3001Web did not build your website please be aware that updating your theme may remove changes you made when your site was built. If 3001Web did build your website you have no need to worry we will have used a child theme to protect any customization we did.

Good premium themes will allow you to simply click a link to update your theme. Others will require you to upload files please contact your themes provider for update help if that is the case.

How To Update Your Theme

FIRST BACKUP YOUR SITE if you do not you risk losing everything. Help on backing up your site can be found by clicking here.

Once the files and databases of your site have been backed up log into your admin area for your site and do the following:

  1. In the left navigation mouse over the word “Dashboard” then click “Updates”
  2. You will be told that your theme is out of date so simply click the “update now” button.
  3. Wait for the update to finish.
  4. Check that your website still looks how it should.

That’s it your theme is now updated.
